Swallows FC caretaker coach Musa Nyatama has shared his thoughts on school and football going hand in hand, and that he has not hung up his playing boots yet.

The 35-year-old was part of the 27 players that graduated from Gordon Institution Of Business Science. The Swallows coach has had a lot on his plate during the time of the program as he had to fight a relegation battle with Swallows at the end of the 2021/22 season. In the end, he emphasized the importance of education.

“Those two goes hand in hand, I doubt in the near future they will be able to play if they not educated, how you gonna do interviews if you not educated? How you gonna take care of your finances if you’re not educated enough?” Nyatama told iDiski Times.

“So to the up-and-coming youngsters I’d recommend them to go to school as they say education is the key to success.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder explained his role at Swallows stating that he is still a player and he hasn’t retired yet and is still registered as a player. The Soweto side is sitting 14th on the log standings after 12 games. Nyatama took charge of the side when Dylan Kerr was shown the door at the beginning of the season.

“At the moment I’m still a player, I’m still registered as a player but also helping the team in terms of filling up that position where there’s no coach. One has to make up the decision whether I still want to continue playing, or do I want to retire and pursue my coaching career.”
