On 18 May, gospel power couple Ntokozo Mbambo and Nqubeko Mbatha toasted to 18 years of their blissful marriage by penning heartfelt tributes to each other on Instagram.

Their marriage goes beyond the perimeters of romance as they also produce soul-reviving music together under Koko Music, a record label co-owned by Nqubeko.

The Mbathas are proud parents of their three adorable children, whom they have intentionally kept out of the spotlight.

NTOKOZO AND NQUBEKO CELEBRATE 18TH ANNIVERSARY

The musical duo indulged their fans by sharing their charming love story that began in the early 2000s.

The lovebirds celebrated their 18-year love story with these beautiful posts on their respective Instagram accounts.

The SAMA award-winning Ntokozo wrote, “In 2001, a 15-year-old girl took a picture with a boy, not knowing that he would change her life forever. She didn’t know he was God’s perfect plan for her life.”

“18 years of marriage later, it feels like our love story has just begun @nqbkm. We practically grew up together & I wouldn’t have it any other way,” she added.

“My love for you knows no end & knows no bound [sic]. Happy Anniversary, husband of my youth,” she wrote.

While Nqubeko wrote, “This walk feels sweeter and sweeter with each step we take together. I love you forever, baby. Happy 18th Anniversary.”

A JOYOUS AND DIVINE MEETING OF SOULMATES

What started as a friendship soon developed into a full‑blown relationship, as Ntokozo and Nqubeko kick‑started their careers at the iconic gospel ensemble Joyous Celebration. The two have been joined at the hip ever since.

They collaborated on a song titled; Nothing Is Impossible during the recording of Joyous 13 at the Mosaeik Theatre in 2009.

During their behind-the-scenes interview, Nqubeko jokingly admitted that he felt intimidated by performing a duet with his wife because “uyacula phela losisi” [she sings really well].
