Nota reacts to DJ Maphorisa and Thuli P’s reunion

Controversial music executive Nota Baloyi has reignited his feud with DJ Maphorisa after a video of the Amapiano star spending time with actress Thuli Phongolo at Louis Rosebank went viral.

The clip, shared on X by Amapiano blogger @PianoConnectSA, showed DJ Maphorisa and Thuli P appearing relaxed and playful together, prompting excitement from fans who celebrated what looked like a reunion.

However, the moment also drew sharp criticism from Nota, who has a long-standing and very public rivalry with Maphorisa.

Reacting on Tuesday, Nota questioned Maphorisa’s judgment and revisited the couple’s turbulent past, including their messy 2023 breakup and the legal drama that followed.

He went as far as giving the producer a brutal nickname, comparing him to another well-known South African figure.

“Mfan’o ke bari. A girl presses charges on you, makes you spend a weekend in a holding cell, you appear in court and get bail as a GBV accused, beg her to drop the charges, then pick up the pieces thanks to @ChrisExcel102, only for him to go back to chasing that BBL? He’s a Skomota!” Nota wrote.

His comments immediately sparked an online firestorm.

While some users agreed with his criticism and shared memes backing his stance, others accused Nota of hypocrisy, with several dragging up his own personal history, including his divorce from singer Berita Khumalo.
