North West University Employee Alleges Hostile Working Environment at Mahikeng Campus

An employee at North West University’s Mahikeng campus has spoken out about her experience at the institution, describing what she calls a “hostile and abusive working environment.”

She alleges she is “subjected to constant scrutiny,” claiming that her comments are monitored and reported back to senior management, which she says has led to repeated confrontations.

The employee further says she feels “targeted and unsupported” within the university, while also facing intense pressure to meet marking deadlines despite ongoing health challenges.

She adds that the situation has left her “overwhelmed and exhausted,” stating that she feels she has no internal avenues left to address her concerns.
