Nomzamo Mbatha clears the air after viral mansion photo sparks Paul Mashatile rumours
Nomzamo Mbatha found herself at the center of unexpected drama after an old photo of her resurfaced online, stirring speculation about her whereabouts.
Social media was buzzing on Tuesday when a snapshot of the actress at a luxurious property in Constantia, Western Cape, had many questioning whether she had visited Deputy President Paul Mashatile’s now-infamous mansion.
The image, originally shared on Instagram, caught new attention when an X user reposted it alongside photos of Mashatile’s R28.9 million Constantia property.
The similarities between the settings quickly ignited rumours that Mbatha may have spent time at the controversial residence.
But the Shaka iLembe star was quick to shut down the speculation with a humorous and pointed reply.
Responding directly to the viral post, she wrote, “Ok, I would like to credit and acknowledge @Airbnb. 😭 Shuthi, sorry.”
To further clear her name, Mbatha provided proof that she had stayed at a rented property in the area through Airbnb during the December 2020 to January 2021 period.
The mansion in question made headlines recently after reports emerged confirming that it was registered under the company of Mashatile’s son-in-law, Nceba Nonkwelo.
Amid growing public scrutiny, the Hawks are reportedly investigating how the funds used to purchase the home were acquired.
Though the moment provided some levity on social media, it adds to a string of recent controversies linked to Mbatha, including her ongoing public feud with Simphiwe Dana, who accused her of copying a trademark hairstyle.
Meanwhile, the actress also became a trending topic earlier this month after her sister, Wendy Mbatha, was accused of sabotaging Londie London during a podcast appearance.
