Award-winning Afro-soul singer Nomfundo Moh is taking fans on a bold new musical journey this summer with her latest project, the EP ‘Out The Box’. Known for her soulful vocals and genre-defying artistry, Moh has once again gathered an impressive roster of collaborators to bring this EP to life.

From DJ Zinhle and MK Productions on Amazwi to Loyiso Bala on Ixesha, and Sun-El Musician, Lee Keyz, Ndloh Jnr, and Simmy on Ngiyakhala, the project showcases the best of contemporary South African music. Other tracks feature Blue Papi, Sminofu, Menzi, Inkosi Yamagcokama, and Nontokozo Mkhize, giving songs like Soze, Umathandana, and Valelise a rich, layered sound.

“Short, Sweet, and Fearless”

Speaking about the project, Moh said: “As a giver, I’ve always poured myself into full-length albums for my MohFam, but this time, I wanted to give differently, something short and sweet.”

She adds, “An EP felt right. It’s me having fun, pushing boundaries, and asking, ‘How far can I go with sound?’ It’s scary, but exciting. Let’s go ‘Out The Box’ this summer, beyond just Afro-pop, let’s do MOH!”

Fans can expect a fearless blend of genres: Afro-pop fused with 3-step rhythms, Maskandi influences, and contemporary pop, creating a unique listening experience.

Visual Storytelling Meets Musical Innovation

Sony Music describes the EP as “a fearless exploration of sound and self, matched by innovative, creative content that literally takes Nomfundo ‘Out The Box’.”

Each track comes with its own distinct visual concept, enhancing the storytelling and allowing fans to connect with Moh’s evolving artistry. Central to the campaign is a striking physical purple box, serving as both a visual anchor and a symbol of reinvention, creativity, and fan engagement.

“Nomfundo is quite literally and creatively taken ‘Out The Box’—connecting her evolving sound to personal storytelling, reinvention, and fan engagement,” the statement adds.

Building on a Year of Musical Momentum

2025 has been a prolific year for Moh. She has already teamed up with Blaq Diamond on Ndizamshini, Inja Kabi Lena for Umafikizolo, and Mörda on Glory, for which she recently released visuals.

The new EP follows her successful 2024 album Twenty Four, continuing her trajectory as one of South Africa’s most versatile and dynamic musical voices.

Pushing South African Music Forward

‘Out The Box’ is more than an EP, it’s a statement of artistic freedom. By blending traditional and contemporary sounds, collaborating with some of the country’s top talent, and pairing music with bold visual storytelling, Nomfundo Moh demonstrates why she remains a trailblazer in the Afro-soul and Afro-pop scene.

For the MohFam, the message is clear: this summer, it’s time to experience Nomfundo Moh like never before, Out The Box.
