The Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Former President FW de Klerk has reportedly been stolen.
According to News24, it was allegedly taken during a break-in at his home in Fresnaye, Cape Town.
The president’s ex-wife revealed to the media on Wednesday that their Fresnaye residence had been burglarized in April and that their safe had almost been completely emptied.
Together with Nelson Mandela, FW de Klerk received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993.
He was given credit for aiding in the downfall of the apartheid system, which paved the path for a democratic South Africa.
De Klerk battled cancer till his death in November 2021 at the age of 85.
