No Proof Of Lobola Or Marriage Certificate! Did Somizi And Mohale Not Legally Wed?
Somizi and Mohale’s marriage wasn’t what you’d call “official” outside of social media. It’s drama after drama in these two’s lives, one minute we’re all hearing about fisting stories then the next it’s Ntsiki claiming the people on Living The Dream With Somizi were paid to sanitise him.
And now, where do we begin with this, it sounds like the two got married on TV and nothing legal was done, though Mohale is willing to fight tooth and nail to ensure that this is rectified and he at least walks away with something from their marriage.
Confused? Let’s unpack it. According to City Press, the pair known as Somhale are not legally married, despite tying the knot in September 2019. The outlet claims that this has stalled their divorce proceeding.

Somizi admitted to knowing that they weren’t legally married. “I knew with the marriage, there would be challenges, naturally, but there are challenges where you can see that this is going to hell. So when they told us that the pastor did not bring the certificates, I was like, look at God!
“We were supposed to sign the following week but I never raised it. Anyway in our marriage, I was always the initiator, had he (Mohale) initiated it, then I would have been sceptical. So I stayed silent.”
To make things worse Mohale can’t even provide proof that uncle bae paid his lobola. Things aren’t looking so bright for the young but should Mohale be able to produce the lobola letter it would help his case as he needs to prove they were at least married in customary law.

City Press further alleges that Somizi is refusing to give Mohale receipts which will prove that they were married. Somizi is reluctant because he was the richer spouse and he stands to lose more in the divorce.
Motaung’s family has taken a back seat as they never approved of their relationship. They never liked the relationship from the go, forged a front for Mohale’s sake, and even gave Mhlongo his lobola back to him because they did not approve of the union, according to the source.
