Nigeria Announce Squad For Ghana WC Qualifier, Ndah Dropped

Nigeria have announced their star-studded squad to face Ghana in the FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff but Orlando Pirates defender Olisa Ndah was dropped.

The 24-year-old was in the Super Eagles squad at the recent African Cup of Nations, where he made his national team debut in a 2-0 win over Guinea-Bissau.

However, his 14 minute cameo of the bench was his only game at the AFCON, with the Super Eagles being eliminated by Tunisia in the round of 16.

Nigeria now switch their focus to their FIFA World Cup playoff against Ghana, which is set to take place on 25 and 29 March.

While Ndah was not included in the squad of new coach Jose Peseiro, who replaced interim boss Augustine Eguavoen, Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi was once again called up.

In addition, Premier League stars such as Wilfred Ndidi, Emmanuel Dennis and Kelechi Iheanacho were included, as was Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who had missed the AFCON.
