Ngcukaitobi SC Sworn in as Acting Justice of Constitutional Court
Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi SC was officially sworn in as an Acting Justice of South Africa’s Constitutional Court on Thursday.
Ngcukaitobi took the oath of office before Deputy Chief Justice Dunstan Mlambo, pledging to be faithful to the Republic, uphold and protect the Constitution and the human rights entrenched in it, and administer justice to all without fear, favour or prejudice.
President Cyril Ramaphosa appointed the respected senior counsel under Section 175(1) of the Constitution, with his acting term running from 1 June to 30 November 2026. A prominent legal scholar with expertise in competition, labour and land law, Ngcukaitobi’s elevation is viewed as a significant boost to the apex court during a busy judicial period.
