Brazil superstar Neymar has sent a congrats message to his former teammate Lionel Messi.
The Argentina captain lead his country to their third World Cup title after 1978 and 1986.
The Albiceleste beat France 4-2 on penalties, with the game heading into penalties after both sides couldn’t be separated after 90 minutes with the score locked at 2-2 and extra-time when it was 3-3.
It was Messi’s first World Cup title and one for the history books, with the Argentine also being named Man of the Match in the final – his fifth MOTM award in Qatar, a feat no one has ever achieved.
In addition Messi won his second Golden Ball for the Player of the Tournament, another milestone no other footballer can match.
After the match, Messi’s former teammate Neymar, who was knocked out with Brazil in the quarter-final by Croatia on penalties, sent Messi a congrats message, saying “Felicidades Hermano”, which translates to “congratulations brother”.
