Orlando Pirates’ new winger, Kamogelo Sebelebele, signed from TS Galaxy, was one of last season’s standout players.

The Tembisa-born star delivered five goals, two assists, and a Bafana Bafana COSAFA Cup call-up that ended with a place in the Team of the Tournament.

Now 23, the diminutive attacker has swapped Mbombela for Soweto, becoming one of 13 new arrivals in the Orlando Pirates squad this season.

“Obviously, Orlando Pirates is a big team. Everyone wants to play for Orlando Pirates,” Sebelebele told the club’s media. “One of the reasons I chose the club is that I grew up supporting Orlando Pirates.

Sebelebele is aiming high: “I’m so grateful to be here, and looking forward to helping the team and contributing to winning the league, CAF Champions League and many other trophies.”

He knows the fight for game time will be fierce: “I know it won’t be easy. I have to push and focus on improving and helping the team.”

Sebelebele was an unused substitute in the MTN8 quarterfinal win over Polokwane City last weekend. Meanwhile, his eyes are now set on Saturday’s league clash against Sekhukhune United at Orlando Stadium, kicking off at 17:30.
