New Era? Atom Bank appoints new CFO, Andrew Marshall

Atom Bank, a UK challenger, has selected Andrew Marshall as its new chief financial officer (CFO), succeeding Atom co-founder David McCarthy, who is departing for personal reasons.
Marshall possesses over 20 years of expertise and has worked with Atom Bank for the past six years, serving as group financial controller, deputy CFO, and most recently director of corporate finance.
Prior to that, he was the director of financial reporting at Barclays and a senior manager at EY.
In his new position, Marshall will be responsible for ensuring that Atom Bank continues to pursue long-term profitability. Atom also adds that Marshall will assist the bank in preparing for “a future major capital event.”
“In such a volatile environment, our objective to simplify, expedite, and enhance the borrowing and saving experience is more vital than ever,” adds Marshall.
Andy Sturrock was recently appointed as chief technology officer (CTO), and Rebecca Cartwright as chief risk officer (CRO).
The first app-based bank in the United Kingdom secured £75 million in a fundraising round headed by current investors BBVA and Toscafund earlier this year.
