Chippa United has made big changes to their coaching team for the upcoming season, sending a clear message to coaches Kwanele Kopo and Thabo September.

Last season, Kopo and September took over as co-head coaches. But now, the club has promoted Kopo to head coach and made September the assistant coach.

“Last season, coach Kwanele Kopo and coach Thabo September became co-coaches midway through the season to help keep our club’s status and improve our league position,” Chippa United said.

Under their leadership, the club finished 11 points above the relegation zone, with their success building a strong foundation for the future of the club.

“To meet our new goals, we have decided to appoint Kwanele Kopo as head coach for the 2024/2025 season. Thabo September will be the assistant coach,” the club said.

With Kopo and September as co-coaches, Chippa United finished 12th in the Premier Soccer League last season.

The club has started signing new players for next season, including Andile Jali, Giovanni Philander, Samkelo Jali, Aphelele Teto, Thibani Jacobs, Sifiso Mazibuko, Seun Ndlovu, Boy Madigwane, and Xolani Sithole.

No coach has ever lasted a full season at Chippa United.
