New Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has addressed his relationship with former co-coach Mandla Ncikazi.
Riveiro was appointed as new Buccaneers coach, replacing the co-coaching duo of Fadlu Davids and Ncikazi. But while latter stayed with the club and was roped into Riveiro’s technical team, Davids has left the club.
The Spaniard has been shy of media interviews but spoke to local journalists at the launch event of the 2022/23 season, addressing a host of topics, including how he works with Ncikazi.
“Very good, very good,” Riveiro responded when asked about his relationship with Ncikazi.
“Mandla is a valuable asset in our coaching staff. He’s going to bring a lot of knowledge and experience about the tournament, the players, the other coaches, so we are learning also with him.
“He’s an important part in this quick process that we have to do in order to be prepared.”
