The Nelson Mandela Foundation wants AfriForum’s bid dismissed with costs.

AfriForum is appealing a High Court decision to ban the old South African flag.

The Foundation says the appeal stems from a yearning for apartheid.

The Foundation’s lawyer, Tembeka Ngcukaitobi, says AfriForum is rejecting the Constitution.

“The question is, what are the contemporary meanings to the flag?” he asked.

The only contemporary meaning to the flag is a yearning for the return of apartheid, is the rejection of the constitutional system.”
