Marumo Gallants playmaker Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo says credit must go to coach Dan Malesela for his incredible goalscoring form of late.
Ndlondlo has netted eight goals this season, with seven arriving in his last six games across all competitions while Malesela has been in charge of 12 games since his appointment.
Only AmaZulu and Orlando Pirates have managed to beat Gallants over that period, while they are now on a seven-match unbeaten streak.
“I think the philosophy the coach brought into the team where we need to believe more in ourselves, we’re able to face any team that’s brought big confidence in the guys,” Ndlondlo said at the Nedbank Cup quarter-final draw.
“Where we’re able to show our superiority on how good we are. We can anyone if we want to do it on the day – that’s helped us so far.
“What coach said to me is to believe more in myself and maintain the good form I’ve had because he’s added a few things I think I lacked.
“He helped me and it’s been good for me because I’ve had to improve my game. The confidence and good run I’ve had so far [under Dan] show off what the coach has added.”
On the draw against their Limpopo rivals Baroka, the diminutive talent admits he’s looking forward to the fixture: “I think it’s going to be a very interesting game where a team that wins will claim the bragging rights [for the derby], so it’s a very interesting fixture about who wants it more.”
Overall Ndlondlo has scored 14 goals and registered 1 assist in 55 games since being promoted with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (now Gallants) to the top-flight.
