Ndah could still join Chiefs or Sundowns

Former Orlando Pirates defender Olisa Ndah could be an option for both Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.

The 27-year-old Nigerian international parted with the Buccaneers a few days ago after nearly six years with the club.

Having won seven trophies with the Soweto giants, the talented defender asked for his early release.

With Ndah now a free agent, he could negotiate a move to Chiefs, Sundowns or any other PSL club should he wish to continue his football career in South Africa.

The player’s agent Mike Makaab, confirmed that Ndah wanted more gametime, which was unlikely at Pirates.

“I can categorically state that, up until Monday this week, I was fully engaged with Orlando Pirates and Olisa Ndah in working on a new deal for the player,” Makaab said on Gagasi FM.

“But in all fairness to the club and to Olisa, the most important thing was for us to understand the situation regarding game time. “

Could Olisa Ndah join Chiefs?

“You must understand Olisa hasn’t played many minutes over the last season. For him, as a football player, it’s absolutely vital that he plays games,” Makaab added.

“No football club can guarantee that. Orlando Pirates were incredibly honest and open about the situation. Once both parties had heard each other out, I spoke to Olisa, and we felt that, for the benefit of him as a player, and to be fair to the club, a mutual termination was the best option,” added the top agent.

Makaab said after a long discussion with Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza, an agreement to release Ndah early was made on Thursday.

“It happened on the last day of the transfer window. We were still in discussions on Wednesday, but the termination was completed on deadline.”

With Kaizer Chiefs always keen to make signings, Ndah might be an option for them. The Nigerian defender brings quality and experience but given his injury history, the Glamour Boys might not go after him.

Which should Ndah go?
