New Mamelodi Sundowns striker Abubeker Nasir has revealed he wants to score more than 10 goals, and says sees himself in Europe in the next five years.
Nasir, 22, made his debut against Kaizer Chiefs, scoring a superb solo goal in the 4-0 win over the Soweto giants.
Overall, he’s scored three goals in his first four appearances for Masandawana before an injury stopped his rapid arrival in South Africa.
He now revealed that his target for the campaign is to reach double figures, but also admitted that injuries haven’t been kind to him.
“This season I would like to score more than ten goals and provide as many assists as possible. Unfortunately, due to my injury I haven’t been able to play many games,” he said during a Q&A with fans in Sundowns’ Digital Magazine.

Among many other topics discussed Nasir was also asked where he sees himself in five years and explained he dreams of playing in Europe before stating he is fully focused on Masandawana right now.
“I’m always working on improving myself daily but in the next 5 years, if I work hard, and achieve what’s required from my side with the help of the coaching team and the players, I would like to play in Europe. But right now, my focus is on working hard and delivering results for Sundowns,” he added.
Meanwhile, head coach Rulani Mokwena recently revealed that Nasir is back in team training, even though he was still a bit behind in terms of his condition.
Nasir and Downs still have two week until they return to local action when the host Orlando Pirates on 30 December in the DStv Premiership.
