Naledi Aphiwe and Mawelele celebrate Valentine’s Day differently

Valentine’s Day took different turns for Naledi Aphiwe and Mawelele, and fans were quick to notice.

Mawelele spent 14 February wrapped up in romance, officially introducing his girlfriend on social media.

The singer shared loved-up photos and videos of the two enjoying their date, captioning the posts with heart emojis and the words, “iy’ndaba zama feelings 🌹”.

On the other hand, Naledi marked the day solo, but in high spirits.

Dressed in a striking red gown and holding a bouquet of roses, she shared a series of photos celebrating self-love and personal growth.

“On this day of love, I’m reminded that love isn’t just something you receive, it’s something you become. I’ve learned to love myself in ways I once begged others to. I’ve learned to protect my heart, honor my softness, and still stand strong in my power. These roses are beautiful, but nothing compares to the woman I’ve become. Loved, chosen, and at peace,” she wrote.

She continued: “Whether love finds me or I create it within myself, I know I deserve the purest kind. Today is not just about being someone’s Valentine, it’s about being mine first. Happy Valentine’s Day to a heart that never stopped believing.”

Their contrasting posts sparked conversation online, with many expressing surprise at Mawelele’s relationship reveal, while others congratulated him on going public with his partner.

The moment also reignited discussions about the pair’s previously rumoured romance.

In January, Naledi addressed the speculation, clarifying that their alleged relationship was simply part of a promotional strategy.

“It was all publicity for our music, and I thank everyone for believing in it. So, yes, I’m not, and never was, in a relationship with Mawelele. The only thing Mawelele would do was kiss me on the forehead, but that was it,” she said.
