Mzwandile Masina blamed for ANC’s failure to take back metros

There’s trouble inside the ANC camp it seems as Ekurhuleni Chairperson, Mzwandile Masina comes under fire for ignoring instructions to withdraw a motion of no confidence against Tania Campbell.

As much as last month’s motion of no confidence against Campbell was successful, she was reinstated as Ekurhuleni Mayor earlier this week.

This after the ruling party and the EFF failed to reach an agreement which would have seen, the ANC’s Jongizizwe Dlabathi elected.

Masina’s actions included him stepping out of the lengthy meeting to discuss the way forward, to take an interview on eNCA.

The Chairperson may now faces charges for ignoring instructions which came from much higher up.

EFF leader Julius Malema said that Mzwandile Masina behaved like a spoiled child who took the stance of “my way or the highway,” despite the party being in talks with ANC leader from provincial and national level.

Mzwandile Masina’s actions may just have cost the ANC any chances it may have had to take back power from the DA in Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, Tshwane and Mogale City.

ANC regional chairperson, Mzwandile Masina called the EFF’s demands unreasonable, and the EFF put forward its intention to run with their own candidate.

The Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) may now take action against Masina for the manner in which he compromised the negotiations with the EFF.

Sizwe Dhlomo asked whether Masina really was to blame for Campbell being reinstated, or is he simply just being used as the scapegoat because the ANC needs someone to blame?
