Musa Khawula exposes alleged fraud behind Kanye West’s planned South Africa concert

Musa Khawula claims Kanye West’s SA show organizer Samuel Monyake is a fraud

A major controversy has erupted around the highly anticipated Kanye West concert in South Africa, as fresh claims emerge that the event organizer, Samuel Monyake of Monyake Group, is allegedly a scammer and fraudster.

Entertainment commentator Musa Khawula shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Monyake’s company, which was said to be responsible for bringing the American rapper to South Africa, is currently in the process of deregistration with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).

According to the reports, Monyake Group has not made any payments to Kanye West’s management despite earlier reaching an agreement to secure the global superstar for a December 2025 performance.

It is alleged that Kanye West initially charged $8 million for the show, but after negotiations, the amount was reduced to $5 million.

The agreement reportedly required an initial payment of $1.25 million to be made by 20 September 2025 before any public announcement.

However, in good faith, Kanye West’s manager is said to have proceeded with the announcement while waiting for the initial payment, which never came through.

Monyake Group allegedly failed to make any payments and subsequently requested a five-day extension at the start of October, but still did not meet the financial obligation.

It’s further claimed that the event had no sponsors, meaning all payments were to come directly from Monyake Group.

Sources also revealed that Samuel Monyake intended to use proceeds from ticket sales to pay Kanye West, a plan that seems to have backfired. TicketPro has reportedly confirmed that only 6,000 tickets have been sold so far, while sales remain open as Monyake continues to insist the show will proceed on 13 December 2025.

Kanye West’s management has reportedly been contacted for an official statement, while potential sponsors are now calling on them to distance themselves from Monyake and his company amid the brewing scandal.
