Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu have announced their starting XIs for the MTN8 final at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The Buccaneers enter the game on the back of a defeat in Soweto Derby, while AmaZulu celebrated their first win under Romain Folz over Stellenbosch.

The Buccaneers eliminated Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-final, while Usuthu kicked out Chiefs.

Pirates could lift their fourth MTN8 trophy, while AmaZulu have reached their first ever final in the competition. They last won a trophy in 1992, when they beat Kaizer Chiefs in the Coca-Cola Cup final.

Overall, the two sides have faced each other 69 times, with Pirates winning 32, while AmaZulu ended up victorious just 11 times and 26 matches ended in a draw.

The Sea Robbers are unbeaten against AmaZulu in 19 games, with their last defeat dating back to August 2013.

Jose Riveiro opted to start Richard Ofori in goal after Siyabonga Mpontshane had started four out of the last five games, conceding just once – last week’s long-range wonder goal by Yusuf Maart in the Soweto Derby.

Romain Folz, meanwhile, opted to start three former Pirates players in today’s final, namely Thembela Sikhakhane, Abbubaker Mobara and Gabadinho Mhango.

Here is how they line up:

Orlando Pirates XI: Ofori (c); Xoki, Sibisi, Ndah; Monyane, Timm, Motshwari, Hotto, Nldondlo, Saleng, Erasmus.

Subs: Mpontshane, Pule, Nga, Mako, Shandu, Lepasa, Dlamini, Makgopa, Makgaka.
