Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates have confirmed their starting line-ups for this afternoon’s MTN8 semi-final second-leg fixture at New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
It’s been 21 days since these two sides battled out in the first leg of the MTN8 semi-final at Orlando stadium and played a goalless draw. The first encounter was dominated by Pirates after Sundowns failed to even have a shot on target. In the second we can’t have a draw as we must get a winner to play the final at Moses Mabhida on the 5th of November.
Sundowns is coming to this game on a three-match winning streak after defeating La Passe of Seychelles in the CAF Champions League twice before claiming all three points against Marumo Gallants in DStv Premiership. The confidence must be high as they only lost one game in the last 10 matches they’ve played.
Meanwhile, the buccaneers are boiling water and cold but gained a bit of confidence after beating Lamontville Golden Arrows in their last DStv Premiership encounter. The sea robbers struggled a bit in the last 10 games having only won four games, two draws, and two losses.
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) confirmed it is set to be a sold-out affair in Polokwane as it was at Orlando Stadium during the first leg.
