Operating as Game Reserves and Msinsi Resorts, the Msinsi Holdings (SOC) Limited was founded in 1992. It is a fully owned subsidiary of South Africa’s state-owned company, Umgeni Water that is entrusted with the responsibility of managing the water resources that flow around all dams that are owned or managed by Umgeni Water.

Msinsi’s operations and strategic objectives are directly derived from the National Water Act. The act states that the water resources belong to, are controlled by, are occupied or used by those who are responsible for: 

  • Providing protection for the aquatic as well as related ecosystems and their biodiversity
  • Reducing and preventing pollution and degradation of the water resources
  • Enabling and regulating recreational access to the dams for the purpose of recreation, and charging a reasonable entrance fee or a charge for using the water surfaces.

Msinsi Holdings Project Graduate Traineeship

Msinsi Holdings ( Project Graduate Trainees) 2022

Project Graduate Trainees have the opportunity to join the Msinsi Head Office team in Hillcrest. Msinsi Holdings ( Project Graduate Trainees) traineeship 2022 is currently open for application and is inviting applications from interested candidates. 

Among the responsibilities of this position are coordinating the Water Resources Management projects managed and executed by Msinsi, including the Alien Invasive Plants Programme in line with the organization’s strategic orientation and clearing strategy within the commercial business unit’s budget, timeline, and quality constraints. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance in planning, reporting, and executing on all projects to do with water resources management that Msinsi executes
  • Controlling the finances and the budget
  • Liaison with stakeholders and clients
  • Assist in evaluating potential safety and health risks associated in the project areas.
  • Identify the training needs of contractors and workers in accordance with the training requirements of NRM
  • A general management role for the overall supervision and administration of all project activities
  • Provide assistance in evaluating the progress made on projects, issues of the company, the work climate, and prepare reports accordingly

Who should apply?

  • A minimum of 3 years of qualification in the field of Natural Sciences or a similar degree from a recognized institute (either Environmental Sciences/ Water Resources Management/ Forestry)
  • A valid driver’s license for motor vehicles
