Teenager stabs friend to death

Tragedy struck in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, on 14 August 2025, when a grade eight learner allegedly stabbed his friend to death while they were walking home from school.

Police confirmed the arrest of the teenager shortly after the incident, which has left the community in shock.

The pupils, who both attended Senzangakhona Secondary School, were reportedly seen arguing before the fatal stabbing.

Other learners who witnessed the attack rushed to alert teachers, and emergency services were called to the scene.

Paramedics later declared the victim dead.

South Africans have expressed devastation over the killing, with many mourning alongside the victim’s family and questioning how two friends could turn on each other in such a violent way.

Police are continuing investigations to determine what led to the deadly confrontation.
