Royal AM chairman Andile Mpisane could face Kaizer Chiefs in the Macufe Cup after being named in the squad for Sunday’s clash.
The 21-year-old, who has previously been lauded as a ‘skilful’ player by former coaches at Royal AM and Royal Eagles, made three appearances in the second-tier but has yet to make the pitch in the top-flight since they bought the status of Bloemfontein Celtic.
He was recently named on the bench for Royal AM’s DStv Premiership clash against SuperSport United, when was listed in the match day squad with the No.1 shirt.
On Sunday, Mpisane again made Royal AM’s squad for the Macufe Cup against Chiefs, but he will wear the No.10 shirt.
The Macufe Cup returns for the first time in three years, and will see Royal AM make their debut, after they bought Bloemfontein Celtic’s status two years ago.
Celtic were the last winners of this traditional friendly competition that is part of the annual Macufe Festival in Bloemfontein. While it was usually played on the last day of the festival, this time around it is being played a week before.
