AmaZulu defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele insists their KZN derby against Richards Bay in the DStv Premiership is a must win. He reveals two reasons why they should emerge victorious on Wednesday.
Mphahlele says the fight at home is about pride and for the maximum points. Therefore, he urges his teammates have to go all out and play their best football.
Usuthu are a much better side in terms of fitness heading into the encounter.
The KZN outfit were in action on Sunday as they played to a one all draw against Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 semi final first leg, whilst the Rich Natal Boyz last played on September 18th against TS Galaxy. the match ended in a goalless draw.
“We have to work really hard and bring our A-game so we bring maximum results. We playing at home, we have to play really well,” Mphahlele told the club’s media department.
“The fact that it’s a derby we fighting pride, we fighting three points at the same time,
“We take the positives of the game [against Kaizer Chiefs]. We tried to go there and win the game, but we came back with a draw. We have to continue and try to get positive results on Wednesday.”
Mphahlele further praised the league newcomers for the solid start they have had in the DStv Premiership. Bay are third on the log standing with 14 points from eight matches.
“Richards Bay is very good and a well organised team. I’ve watched them play against TS Galaxy and have watched them play against Kaizer Chiefs.
“They have some good players and they play good football so we have to be ready on the day.” Mphahlele added.
Both teams will be gunning for maximum points after dropping points against Mamelodi Sundowns and TS Galaxy respectively.
