A somewhat innocent social media post by singer Bobby van Jaarsveld has sparked speculation on his romantic life. The post comes just days before Valentine’s Day on 14 February.
The Afrikaans entertainer split from his ex-wife, Anna, in 2024. The couple – who met as teens – have three children together.
BOBBY VAN JAARSVELD SPARKS ROMANCE RUMOURS
In a social media post shared on his Instagram and Facebook accounts, Bobby van Jaarsveld had his followers doing a double-take.
In the sponsored post, Bobby advertised the services of a skincare range. The theme was Valentine’s Day, and in one particular image, the Afrikaans singer looked adoringly at a female model, to whom he offered a bouquet of red roses.
The brunette woman laughed off the show of affection.
Although the post was clearly work-related, fans in the comment section were convinced that Bobby was introducing his new romantic partner to the public.
“Is she your new girlfriend?” asked one Facebook user. Another added, “I also want to know if this is the new love.”
A third referenced his ex-wife, commenting: “No respect for Annatjie, who is thinking back to earlier Valentine’s spent together”.
Bobby van Jaarsveld has not commented on the speculation.
WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS MARRIAGE?
Bobby van Jaarsveld and Anna, a businesswoman, began dating when they were both 17.
They met in grade 8 while both attending Brits High School. In 2011, they married in a star-studded wedding.
In 2009, Bobby wrote the song Annatjie, which was dedicated to his wife and life partner. He’s also posted several heartfelt Instagram posts praising his partner.
In 2019, Bobby, Anna, and their three children moved to a seaside home in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal.

Fast forward to 2024, Bobby and Anna announce their separation to the shock of his followers.
He shared in a statement: “We have shared so many wonderful moments and years together and will always love each other and care for each other. God has blessed us with three beautiful children, and they will always be our first priority”.
Bobby and Anna emphasised their commitment to co-parenting: “Even though our relationship as a couple changes, we are both committed to raising our children together as friends with the same love they have experienced so far.”
