Hungry Lions moved top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship after the latest round of fixtures.

On Saturday Lions won 1-0 against Baroka, and that was enough for the Northern Cape to jump above AmaTuks, who played to a goalless draw against Venda Football Academy. AmaTuks remain unbeaten, and are now the only side yet to lose in the second

There was also a goalless draw between Platinum City Rovers and Pretoria Callies, after the match was rescheduled on Saturday. It was meant to be played on Friday, but had to be called off after bees took over one of the goals.

On Sunday Black Leopards and Magesi also played to a goalless draw while Casric Stars handed Uthongathi their first defeat of the season, with a 1-0 win.

On Monday at Athlone Stadium, Cape Town Spurs may have been reduced to ten men, but Shaun Bartlett’s team still ran out 3-1 winners against NB  La Masia.

Meanwhile, in Limpopo, Polokwane City grabbed a late winner as they beat  Tshakhuma 2-1.
