Recognition highlights Motlanalo’s role in advancing transformation and building the next generation of business professionals.

Motlanalo Chartered Accountants and Auditors Inc. has been recognised as a Top Empowered Company by Impumelelo Top Empowerment, one of South Africa’s leading platforms for benchmarking transformation and empowerment.

Top Empowerment is widely recognised for celebrating organisations that prioritise transformation and empowerment as an integral part of their business strategy across both the public and private sectors.

Motlanalo’s recognition follows a rigorous research and benchmarking process that assesses organisations against key criteria, including black representation at the leadership level, employment equity, senior management composition, empowerment policies, skills development, and broader contribution to the economy.

Motlanalo’s inclusion among South Africa’s top empowered organisations reflects its continued commitment to transformation as a core strategic priority.

Founded in 2017, Motlanalo has grown from a single office in Limpopo to offices in four provinces across South Africa and became PA Global’s first sub-Saharan African member firm in November 2025. The firm is a majority-black, women-owned and managed professional services firm.

Motlanalo has distinguished itself through its focus on developing young black professionals, creating opportunities for women and building a culture grounded in excellence and purpose. This journey is shaped by Motlanalo’s purpose to develop business professionals and auditors through teaching and by creating a nurturing and empowering environment, its vision to promote Cultural Excellence in Business, and its mission to transform the audit landscape.

Koko Khumalo, founder and chief executive officer of Motlanalo, said: “This recognition reflects the intentional work we have done to build a firm that contributes meaningfully to transformation in our profession and in the broader economy. For us, transformation is embedded in how we develop our people, serve our clients and lead our business.”

As Motlanalo continues to grow, it remains focused on delivering high-quality professional services while contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

“Transformation must be lived to be meaningful. This recognition reflects the work we have done, but more importantly, the responsibility we carry going forward,” said Koko Khumalo.
