New Al Ahli Saudi head coach Pitso Mosimane has sent a message to his new club’s fans after arriving in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The 58-year-old South African mentor was appointed as the head coach of Al Ahli eight days ago.
Mosimane and his technical team have accepted the task of waking up the sleeping giant after Al Ahli got relegated last season, after finishing 15th on the log collecting, only 32 points in 30 games.
Mosimane arrived in Jeddah on Monday and immediately took part in his first training session, while also addressing local media for the first time.
“Thank you for welcoming me, Yes! We came to do the job. We are ready,” Mosimane told arriyadiyah in Jeddah.
“I’ve seen on the social media that they’ve been talking to us, which is good. We feel good, we feel home, we feel welcomed.
“The message to them is they must come to the stadium and fill the stadium. Because with them we have more power, they must come to the stadium, we need them at the stadium to push the team.”
Mosimane’s technical team of head analyst Musi Matlaba and analyst Kyle Solomons also arrived in Jeddah, while strength and conditioning coach Kabelo Rangoago will only join after completing some scheduled CAF courses.
The three time CAF Champions League winner won’t have much time as his new side Al Ahli will face Jeddah Club on Wednesday evening at 19:30 away from home.
The three time Saudi Professional League champions are sitting seventh on the log in the First Division with eight points after five games played. They are four points behind log leaders Al Akhdood.
