Pitso Mosimane says if Al Ahly are offered quality pitches you will see his magical football after they dropped points in the Egyptian Premier League on Wednesday evening.
After failing to score for a third match in their past four league games, Mosimane was probed about what was described as a sub-standard pitch by sections of the Egyptian media.
And while he refused to directly comment on the surface at the Arab Contractors Stadium, he stated that it was no surprise the difference in performances when they faced Raja Athletic Club and ES Setif in the CAF Champions League in comparison to the 0-0 draw with National Bank of Ahly.
“It’s a collective [reason of domestic struggles],” Mosimane said.
“You can talk about the pitches, not me. Did you see when we lost in Alexandria? So why do you want me to talk about the pitches [in Egypt].
“I can talk about the pitch in Setif, I can talk about the pitch in Raja, I can talk about the pitch anywhere else but here I’m here to coach, play football and stay away from those things. You can talk about it, not me.
“You want Ahly to play football, give me a pitch. Then you can see my magic, okay. You can see my magic, but I’m not here to talk about the pitches in Egypt, I’m a visitor here and I will come out as a visitor, not a politician, sorry.”
Ahly face ENPPI and Eastern Company in their next two league games over the next six days before the CAF Champions League final against Wydad Atheltic Club in Casablanca on Monday, 30 May.
