Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Ryan Moon is seemingly close to a return to the DStv Premiership after being offered a two-year deal by Maritzburg United.

The 25-year-old left South Africa in March 2021, joining Swedish top-flight outfit Varbergs BolS after a stint with Stellenbosch FC and went on to win the Golden Boot award with seven goals in 26 appearances in his first season.

However, he opted not to exercise the two-year option and leave to explore other options. iDiski Times understands he’s been training with the Team of Choice for over three weeks now.

This publication understands, Maritzburg have offered Moon a two-year contract as they look to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season.

Ernst Middendorp’s team currently need one point from their final two games to survive relegation and secure their status in the South African top-flight next season.

Moon made 37 appearances for Stellies, scoring five times and assisting three more. He also make his senior debut in South Africa for Maritzburg in February 2016 before moving to Amakhosi the following transfer window.

At Naturena, Moon featured 44 times, scoring seven goals and setting up one more.
