Mohale Motaung

Mohale Motaung has stirred up social media after subtly reflecting on his past relationship choices and hinting that he’s now open to dating people closer to his own age.

The media personality jumped into a viral conversation on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, where users debated why some people avoid dating partners within their age range.

Mohale responded with a cryptic but loaded line: “We were blind, now we see.”

The comment instantly reignited conversations about his former marriage to Somizi Mhlongo, which ended publicly and controversially in 2021.

Mohale, who was more than two decades younger than Somizi, appeared to be pointing to lessons learned from that relationship.

Mohale and Somizi began dating in 2018, leading to a fairytale engagement and two lavish weddings that were broadcast in the reality special Somizi & Mohale: The Union.

Their union, once celebrated widely, eventually collapsed under intense public scrutiny.

His latest tweet left social media divided. Some followers related to his honesty and applauded him for prioritising partners within his age group going forward.

But others didn’t hold back, accusing him of using his ex-husband’s name for attention.

Critics fired shots such as:

“You used Somizi for fame and now you’re acting brand new.”

“We saw everything. Don’t try to rebrand now.”

We were blind, now we see. https://t.co/n25JIu5GvP
