Mofokeng settles in Belgium, responds to fans
Relebohile Mofokeng appears to have settled in well at his new team Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium. The club allowed him to take over the social media manager’s phone to respond to his fans.
Local fans flooded the club’s social media platforms, asking about Mofokeng’s well-being since his arrival at the team. Instead of responding to them by sharing photos of him in training as per the norm, they simply handed him the phone and told him to go live and speak directly to the fans.
“Hello guys, don’t worry, I am here,” said Mofokeng. “I have taken the admin’s phone so that you can see me. Thank you.”
This was followed by footage of Relebohile Mofokeng in training with his new teammates. The team is currently at a training camp in the Netherlands.
The 21-year-old player moves from Orlando Pirates in a deal worth around R56 million. He has signed a four-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2030.
Mofokeng signed for this team from Orlando Pirates, where he was a star player who helped win three trophies last season. He was also part of the Bafana Bafana squad playing in the World Cup qualifiers before officially moving to Belgium.
Many teams wanted him, but he chose Union SG as his new home. Now that Relebohile Mofokeng has started training with his new team, fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing him play.
