Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi has made a huge admission over his side’s game against Kaizer Chiefs last month.
Masandawana bounced back to their winning ways after defeating Chippa United by 1-0 at Nelson Mandela Bay stadium.
They came to this game recently lost to their arch-rivals SuperSport United 2-1 and Mngqithi mentioned that the team has lost games they were not supposed to have lost which are two games against SuperSport United and TS Galaxy.
He then mentions that even the draws they’ve played they shouldn’t have played the draw and that was against Sekhukhune United.
The 51-year-old feels like they didn’t deserve to win the game against Kaizer Chiefs with that scoring margin.
“We planned to win this match, We were unhappy with the number of shots at goals that we took first half in as much as their goalkeeper has done very well,” Mngqithi told SuperSport TV
“Truth be told we’ve lost matches that we shouldn’t have lost and we’ve won with a very big margin a match that maybe we should not have won.
“Because if you look at the stats and the actions of the game against Kaizer Chiefs we did not deserve to win that match with that score-line. But the matches that we lost and the one that we drew are the matches that we should’ve won”
Masandawana is back on top after a late winner from Peter Shalulile. They also remain the highest scoring team in the current campaign despite coach Mngqithi saying they should convert their chances when they get them.
