Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi has given an update on the injury list ahead of the MTN8 semi-final clash against Orlando Pirates.
Newly signed defender Terrence Mashego has been confirmed to be on the list of injured players and it has been stated that it might take some time for him to get back.
The Ethiopian international Abubeker Nasir has also been confirmed to be injured but mentioned that he might return in due course.
“To be honest we don’t have too many injuries at this stage. We have Mashego as you say, we have Nasir still out but getting back very soon probably he will be available for the second round,” he told reporters in the MTN8 semi-final pre-match press conference.
“Mashego he is probably one of our longer-term injuries but otherwise we are getting almost everybody else back. Rivaldo is getting closer and closer to the team, Bongani Zungu has already shown some minutes we are hoping that he can get an opportunity in this match and deliver a very very good game.
“Mothobi again he’s also looking very good in training but probably it’s a case of probably another two weeks before he can come back otherwise we’ve got a very good bill of health because a lot of players that were injured have come back.
“Gaston has come back, Lebo is also in an around the team, Mothobi is also in an around the team so we are in a very good state compared to the previous matches
