Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s daughter-in-law and entrepreneur, Pokello Nare, is making headlines for her lavish birthday celebration in Italy.

Joined by friends Tanya the Therapist and Mariane Pembe, Pokello showed off her glamorous European escape on social media.

Pokello Nare’s birthday vibes in Italy

The former Big Brother Africa housemate, who represented Zimbabwe in 2013, celebrated her 40th birthday surrounded by an elite circle of friends.

While on vacation in Italy, she took to her social media and posted:

“So what does 40 look like for me? It’s standing tall in my own shoes, sipping a glass of my own champagne, and being surrounded by women who have held my hand, sat through exams with me, wiped my tears, and celebrated with me.

“It’s having a tribe who, whether we win or lose, will always be there.”

Known for her impeccable fashion sense, Pokello is believed to be married to one of Mnangagwa’s sons.

Celebrating her birthday, Pokello gave thanks to her husband.

“Lastly, but most importantly, to the king of my jungle, my husband, my greatest love,” she posted on social media.

“I stopped dreaming years ago because my reality surpassed even my wildest imaginations.

“Everything I could ever dream of, you have given to me. May the heavens continue to converge at the mere mention of your name, may the angels continue to brace above you, and may the good Lord ensure your sons uphold your name in legendary status forever!”

Does this highlight the privilege of Zimbabwe’s political elite?
