After beating Kaizer Chiefs 2-0 on Tuesday, Cape Town City captain Thamsanqa Mkhize says they are happy to have finally picked up their first win of the season.
The victory was City’s first in six league games, after losing their first three, before drawing the two prior to the Chiefs game.
Mkhize said that while the team felt they had been playing well, results weren’t going their way in the DStv Premiership, but he feels Tuesday was a turning point, and they will now look to build from that.
“Obviously, ja, we’re very happy,” Mkhize said on Wednesday.
“We’re very happy that we have finally won our first game of the season.
“We didn’t start well, but on the positive side, the club has been always been playing well, it’s just that we haven’t managed to win the game in those five games that we’ve played.
“Ja, we’re happy that we won our first game yesterday. So we looking forward to improve on that.”
City now turn their focus to the MTN8, when they will host AmaZulu on Saturday in the last eight.
