A New Chapter for Miss South Africa

Excitement is building across South Africa as the Miss South Africa Organisation prepares to reveal the Top 10 finalists for 2025. Alongside the announcement, the much-anticipated date of the grand finale will also be revealed this week, signaling the start of the countdown to the crown.

“The wait is finally over. From unforgettable moments to new beginnings, the legacy continues. Something exciting is coming your way on 16 September 2025. We’re revealing the Miss SA 2025 Top 10 and announcing the finale date you’ve all been waiting for. The countdown to the crown has officially begun,” the organisation shared in a Sunday statement.

Changes to the Competition Format

This year marks a significant shift in how the pageant unfolds. Traditionally, Miss SA starts with a Top 30, followed by eliminations leading up to the finale. However, the 2025 edition will bypass the Top 30 stage entirely.

Additionally, the reality series Crown Chasers, which previously offered behind-the-scenes coverage of contestants, will not be part of the competition this year. Fans can expect a fresh, streamlined approach focused entirely on the finalists and their journey to the crown.

Leadership Shake-Up Behind the Scenes

The Miss South Africa Organisation has undergone major changes in leadership this year, adding another layer of intrigue to the 2025 pageant.

In January, creative director Werner Wessels announced his departure, calling his time with Miss SA “a dream come true.”

“A journey filled with purpose, passion and pride. I’m immensely proud of the work we have done and the impact I’ve made. I will forever be grateful to the Miss South Africa Organisation for entrusting me with the responsibility that comes with this role I created,” Wessels said.

Later in July, CEO Stephanie Weil stepped down after several years at the helm. The organisation ensured a smooth transition:

“An agreement has been reached that Ms Weil will be leaving the organisation after many years as CEO of Miss South Africa. She will remain for as long as necessary to ensure a smooth transition and to serve the best interests of the organisation,” the official statement read.

These leadership changes, alongside the format updates, suggest a new vision for Miss SA—one that promises to modernize the competition while maintaining its rich legacy.

Public Reaction and Anticipation

Social media is already buzzing with speculation. Fans are debating potential finalists, sharing throwbacks of past queens, and expressing excitement for the finale. Many see the changes as a bold move, signaling a willingness to innovate while keeping the essence of Miss SA intact.

As the Top 10 are revealed this week, South Africans can expect not just a beauty pageant but a celebration of ambition, talent, and the future of the nation’s most iconic competition.
