Milutin Sredojević looks set to be appointed as the new Libya national team head coach after parting ways with Uganda.

After failing to qualify for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, the Cranes and ‘Micho’ parted ways amicably.

It ended his second spell with the East African nation and links to several clubs and countries on the continent immediately raised.

The Serbian coach confirmed to iDiski Times that he’s agreed terms in principle with the North African country and will be in charge against Liberia on the 14th of October.

While the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) have yet to confirm the move, they are expected to announce his appointment on a two-year deal.

He replaces Salim Al-Jalali, who has been in charge on an interim basis and tasked to lead the nation in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

They open their Group D campaign against eSwatini and Cameroon in November with an away game against the Southern Africans on the 13th before hosting Rigobert Song’s Indomitable Lions seven days later.
