Mhango’s Frustration Led To Pirates Exit

AmaZulu forward Gabadinho Mhango has opened up about his exit from Orlando Pirates, after a frustrating season where he spent more time on the sidelines than on the pitch.

The Malawian international was speaking in an interview with Velile Mnyandu in the latest edition of iDiski Times.

Despite starring at international level, Mhango found himself on the fringes of the Buccaneers team in the 2021/2022 campaign, and said the club helped facilitate his exit as they could see he was frustrated not getting playing time.

“I think even the club also played the part because they knew that I wanted to play football, the most important point for me to see myself on the pitch again and to do what I can,” Mhango told iDiski Times.

“Because sometimes the more you stay outside, you get frustration, and you can be forgetting who you are and start doing something else because of frustration.

“I was like all I want now is to enjoy football and they spoke with my manager and the AmaZulu management and then they let me go.”

Mhango’s move to Usuthu has so far borne fruit, as he has scored three goals already since making the shift to KwaZulu-Natal.

In this week’s edition of iDiski Times, you can hear from Mamelodi Sundowns star, Khuliso Mudau, who talks about the demands players must face at the Brazilians, and their hope to defend all of their trophies. Mhango discusses his Pirates exit, his move to KZN and much more. Read the full edition of iDiski Times below:
