Senzo Meyiwa‘s close friend, Tumelo Madlala has refuted claims by the defense attorney that there was never an intruder at the house where his friend was killed.

Madlala is on day three of his testimony at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.

He is the third witness called so far and the first witness who was inside the house when the incident occurred.

Meyiwa was shot and killed in a robbery at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo, house in Vosloorus On 26 October 2014.

Five men, Muzikawukhulelwa Sthemba Sibiya, 34; Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, 30; Mthobisi Prince Ncube, 36; Mthokoziseni Ziphozonke Maphisa, 35 and Sifisokuhle Ntuli, 32 are accused of killing the former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper who was 27 at the time.

WHO KILLED MEYIWA?

Madlala identified Ntanzi as one of the intruders on a fateful night.

“This is the person that Senzo held against the wall. I am referring to the second one,’’ said Madlala as he pointed out Ntanzi.

Remarkably, Ntanzi smiled when Meyiwa’s close friend pointed him out.

“I would not lie about the person in a case of this nature. The person himself knows that I am telling the truth.

“That’s why I requested a break because I could not handle being in the same room with that person,” added Madlala.

Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi is accused No 2 in the Senzo Meyiwa trial.

However, advocate Tshepo Timothy Thobane, who represents four of the five men accused, says the story of an intruder was a cover-up, including the Netflix documentary in which Madlala also makes an appearance.

“Sir I put it to you that there were no intruders that came into the house that day,” said Advocate Thobane.

“Those are lies, those are lies. That’s a made up story,” responded Madlala.

The late Senzo Meyiwa with fans.

“Sir, I put it to you that the Netflix documentary was staged. That documentary as it appeared you were acting on it,” continued Thobane.

“I have never acted, I can’t act,” answered Madlala.

Meanwhile, Thobane has also claimed that a witness will testify that Meyiwa was having a sexual relationship with Zandile Khumalo, the sister of Kelly.

“A witness will testify that Kelly had brought Zandi to live with them, to guard Senzo while she was doing her music career activities.

“I put it to you that the same witness will come and testify that Senzo was complaining about the way Kelly was doing things, and having someone to guard him,” Thobane said.

The case will continue on Friday morning…
