Metro FM and Daily Thetha anchor Pearl Shongwe has died

The entertainment industry is mourning the death Metro FM and Daily Thetha anchor Pearl Shongwe.

There are still no details regarding her cause of death, however according to several reports, she was found dead in her Polo Fields home.

The SABC has confirmed her untimely passing through a tweet “The SABC has learned through the family of Pearl Shongwe that she has sadly passed away. The SABC extends its heartfelt condolences to the Shongwe Family.”

On social media, a WhatsApp message is circulating from a neighboring forum and it reads “We regret to inform you that one of our residents has passed away inside her Unit. The family of the resident has been notified and is at The Polofields presently.

“You may notice police, ambulance and coroner vehicles in the Estate during the day. Please do not be alarmed as they are attending to the situation. Currently, there is no reason for concern.”

South Africans are shattered by the news, and they have taken to social media to share their heartfelt condolences.
