Marumo Gallants know that they will a positive result against Swallows FC on the final day of the league, if they are to keep their DStv Premiership status after their incredible CAF journey.
Their fairy-tale run in the CAF Confederation Cup came to end, as they lost 4-1 on aggregate to the Young Africans of Tanzania in the semi-final.
But their focus has to shift back to the league now, as they lie second from bottom on the table tied on 29 points with Chippa United at the basement.
Interim coach Raymond Mdaka hopes the experience gained in their CAF run will come in handy and help them to survive the axe.
“Very different, honestly, in how we play,” said Mdaka.
“You see when you play in South Africa they give you space but when you play in CAF there is that physical explosion, the teams they don’t play like normally, like in our country with a lot of touches but they’ve got structure. They use their physique.
“The thing is we were looking at it like one game at a go. We were not thinking about like now instead of focusing on this game, we focus on the other game, or the game that’s supposed to be played.
“We are done with this. We have closed the chapter now we have to focus on the game that we are supposed to play on Saturday.”
A win could guarantee survival for Bahlabane ba ntwa, while a draw and results from fellow survival hopefuls could see them in a tricky situation of the play-offs or outright relegated.
