Kylian Mbappe bagged a brace while Olivier Giroud became France all-time record scorer in a 3-1 win over Poland in their 2022 FIFA World Cup last-16 tie.
Giroud overtook Thierry Henry’s long-standing record (50), to score the 51st goal of his career to open the scoring just before the break.
But despite his momentous achievement, it was overshadowed by the Mbappe show, as the 23-year-old bagged two incredible goals in the second half.
Poland showed plenty of endeavor throughout but the only reprieve was a penalty for Robert Lewandowski in the final minute of the game as he secured a consolation.
Mbappe, however, moved to the summit of the Golden Boot race with five goals, with his ninth overall in World Cup history.
