Orlando Pirates midfielder Azola Matrose seems set to return to Chippa United on loan for 2023/24 season, iDiski Times has learnt.
Matrose, 20, was signed by Orlando Pirates ahead of the 2022/23 season after he broke into the first team of the Chilli Boys in 2021/22.
The 19-year-old wanted to remain in Gqeberha on loan, as he was busy with his studies doing Grade 11.
In this past season, Matrose made 16 appearances in all competitions and scored two goals for the Eastern Cape-based side, but he missed the second half of the campaign with a fibula bone injury.
However, he has fully recovered and is currently using the off season to get himself fit for pre-season with Pirates. It is believed the 20-year-old will do pre-season with the Buccaneers during the school holiday.
However, at the same time it is expected that Matrose will return to Gqeberha for another loan with Chippa, so he can finish his matric (Grade 12).
