In true MasterChef South Africa tradition, you’re only as good as your last dish. This season is proving to be piping-hot, sizzling with high drama and shocking eliminations.

The first eliminations of the season left viewers shocked. The first episode saw two cooks leaving the show; Rejane Gwynne and Chanelle Gale were the first two home cooks to be eliminated from season six.

Rejane and Chanelle were quickly followed by Tina, who got eliminated in the following episode. This past Sunday, the show delivered another surprising elimination: Ali Sonday (30), who is a Senior Attorney from the Western Cape. Ali, who had won the challenge in episode one, seemed to be one of the front-runners, but his partially burnt food cost him his place in the competition, and he was sent home.

Judges Zola, Justine, and Katlego seem to be shocking the contestants with surprise twists and challenges. This season is proving to be one of the most exciting seasons yet.

The show on its own has earned its place as one to look forward to every Sunday evening. It never gets old, and gives the contestants a life-changing opportunity.

MasterChef South Africa airs in its new home on e.tv on Sundays at 18:00, with simultaneous streaming on eVOD Live TV. Episodes are also rebroadcast on Saturdays at 17:00, with additional rebroadcasts on eExtra on Saturdays at 20:30 and eReality on Sundays at 17:00.
