The Flemish ministry of education is a government organization that decides the policies of the education system in the Flemish region. The organization was founded in 1989 and controls and regulates the education system from nursery to university level. It covers and oversees all aspects including teacher’s salary and pension, supervision of language in school, providing opportunities to foreign students, the division of syllabus, etc.
Moreover, the organization consists of three networks and includes private education, government education, and subsidized education (for religious purposes). By providing scholarships and funding students, the organization aims to promote Flanders and Brussels as the top study destinations in the world.
Belgium: Master Mind Scholarships 2022
The Flemish ministry of education is providing a master’s programme scholarship to students around the world. Students will get a chance to study in Brussels and Flanders from the mastermind scholarship 2022. The scholarship offers a variety of financial benefits including tuition fee waiver, health insurance, living expenses, and other costs related to accommodation.
Students are given the option of one year or two-year master’s program in all the fields of study offered by participating universities and university colleges of mastermind scholarship programmes.
The fields of study include:
Applied Sciences and Arts
Computer science
Engineering
Social sciences
English language
Research and many more, depending on the subjects that each university offers.
Although any student from around the world can apply, some seats are reserved for students from specific countries such as USA, Palestine, Mexico, and Japan. The scholarship will be financed on installments and its continuity will depend on the student’s performance in the first year of the programme.
Who should apply?
The interested applicants must meet the following entry requirements to apply for the Belgium mastermind scholarship:
The student must choose a master’s degree programme from one of the participating universities.
The student must have a credible academic record with a good university GPA.
The applicant must be well versed in the English language.
The student must get an offer of acceptance by the participating university they are applying in.
Students must have completed a degree from a higher education institution outside Flanders
Students must not already be enrolled in Flemish higher education institution
Applicants who have participated in degree mobility programmes from Flemish institutions are eligible to apply.
How do I apply?
The student must apply to one of the participating host Flemish institutions. Once accepted, an application file will be prepared by the host institution in the Mobility-Online tool. The students will be notified through email about their pre-selection. The student must then register for the mobility-online tool to submit their application form including all the required documents.
Finally, the institution will review the student’s applications and submit their file for the mastermind scholarship programme before the deadline.

Student’s passport size photo
Curriculum vitae
National ID and international passport
Transcription records, which must be written in Dutch, English, German or French, otherwise a certified translation copy must be attached
Results of the student’s English language test, in case they do not have a letter of exemption from their previous home university
A motivational letter written in English, German, French or Dutch, otherwise a translation copy has to be attached.
Two, signed, recommendation letters from professors of the student’s previous home university
